Winter Wedding Colors

Getting married in the winter? You do not have to shiver at the thought. Winter is a wonderful time of the year which makes us think of snowflakes and Santa Claus. Although this is one of the coldest times of the year, you don’t have to look frozen on your special day. It is important to choose colors that would definitely fit with the season.

Winter is a festive time of the year which starts from late November to March. Colors around us are silvery, white and bluish. Thus, these colors make an attractive and well suited winter theme. You can actually combine any other color to contrast the main theme color so long as it won’t go too much that it would go overboard.

Here are some more tips on what to consider when choosing your winter wedding colors.

First, select warm colors to complement the lighter colors. Nature colors like orange and yellow would make wonderful accents. To contrast and complement with the aforementioned colors would be red and green. You could also include dark purple and gray.

Also, you can make this occasion more sparkling if you add metallic colors to your scheme especially if you will have the event on an evening. Try gold, brass, bronze, and copper. Using cool colors like blue and green to complement your primary color scheme would also make you feel so into the season. Wedding accessories could be accentuated with your secondary color. You can also add glimmering accessories as your accents.

If you want to use a three color combination as your winter wedding color, you may try any one of these: white, periwinkle and silver, white, red and silver, white, red and evergreen, white, periwinkle, and blue, chocolate, evergreen and mocha, chocolate, red, and mocha, white, merlot and silver, and white, silver, and evergreen.

For your invitations, you could use winter scenes as your background. Snowflakes are also pretty. In choosing your flower colors, choose colors that will complement your main theme color.

Choose the best winter wedding color for you. This is just a guide on helping you decide what colors to combine for your special day.
