Late Summer Tennessee Wedding| Emily & Ben

Hello, all I hope the holidays are treating you well.   I have a darling late summer wedding to share with you today photographed by Lauren Kenzie Photography.  Emily & Ben’s wedding took place at the Bella Reed Farms in Franklin, Tennessee.  The event was stylishly put together with the help of the grooms Aunt and friend.   I just love the eclectic country style and the range of pretty colors incorporated.

Take a peek below and don’t forget to read the brides comments at the end of the post.

From the bride, Emily:

How did you meet?

Ben and I met in Franklin, TN.  I went on a trip to Israel and he was the one leading the trip.  We became friends on the trip, then began dating about 5 months later.

How did he propose?

Ben proposed on top of a building in downtown Franklin.  He had sneakily driven 12 hours to Iowa, the weekend before, to ask permission from my parents to marry me!  Needless to say, I was completely surprised.  Because I had know idea he visited my parents, and I knew he wouldn’t ask me before he talked to them, I had know clue it was coming.  He decorated the roof of the building with lights, balloons, pictures, and a decorated table for us to eat Indian food (our favorite).  There, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!

What was your Wedding Planning, Inspiration and Style?

As far as my inspiration for the wedding, I would say I am just someone who likes a mix of things.  I like a non-matching eclectic look for almost anything, so I wanted my wedding to be happy, full of color, and a little random.  Ben’s aunt and friend listened to what I liked and created the look I wanted!

What was your Favorite memory of the day?

I loved having so many people we loved all in one place at one time!  Ben and I are from 2 far away places, so bringing some of our favorite people together was so special.  When we were standing up in the front, I looked out into the crowd and saw faces of people that were celebrating our marriage, and that meant so much to me!

Vanessa & Michael’s Bird Themed Autumn Wedding

Hey all hope your weekend is going well!  I wanted to share this lovely nature themed wedding with you before I head out for the day.   Vanessa & Michael’s Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada wedding captured by Sugar & Soul Photography, had a delightful colorful palette of teal and chartreuse.  An abundant of  bird cages and other charming bird décor decorated the venue.

This was just truly a beautiful and fun autumn wedding.   Check out the photos and read the comments from the photographer and bride below.

From the Bride: We met at Blush Ultraclub in 2008. Mike was attending a friend’s Stag, and Vanessa was at a going-away celebration for a friend. It took us a good portion of the night to muster up the courage to talk to one another, but finally connected through the help of our “wing girl” and “wing man”.

Via the Photographer: Mike and Vanessa had been dating almost four years, when Mike decided to pop the question while on vacation together in Victoria, BC. The two were taking a stroll near Victoria’s harbor at night, when they saw the legislative building all lit up with lights and Mike thought- this looks just like a scene from the  Bachelor, what a great place to propose!

Via the Photographer: Vanessa couldn’t wait to get started on planning the wedding and they soon started looking for the perfect venue. When they came across Southwood Golf & Country Club, they fell in love with the natural surroundings of the place and how the nature carried through to the interior design of the room.

Via the Photographer: Vanessa had always loved images of birds, and thought, what a better way to carry on the nature theme then with antique birdcages and bird related decor (and cake/cake pops)! It was very important for Vanessa to add her personal touch to the wedding, and with her love of crafts she had no problem incorporating many do-it-yourself projects into the wedding such as the centerpieces, table numbers, place cards and ceremony arch. She also wanted a very cozy and relaxed feeling to the wedding and thought it was important to have a lot of warm colors, textures, candle light and an interactive dessert option.

Via the Photographer:Mike and Vanessa’s favorite moment during the wedding was Vanessa’s sister’s speech where Vanessa’s gullibleness and naivety, and Mike’s quirky sense of humor

Tips from the Bride: On your wedding day, remember to take a minute to yourself to sit back and enjoy all of the excitement and celebration around you- look around and see how great of a time everyone is having and appreciate all the hard work you’ve put in over the past year (or more!). Also, organization is key. Remember to let others help you out with tasks- the more information people have on how you would like something done, the less stressed you will feel on the big day and the more fun you will have. And, remember to eat!
