Wendy & Adam’s Pink, Black & Brown Rustic Winter Wedding

Happy Friday!  I have a really gorgeous wedding to share with you all today photographed by Jackie Ray Photography. Wendy & Adam celebrated their big day at Abram’s, one of the stunning venues provided by Main Event in Lufkin, Texas.  I just love the brides Sottero & Midgley gown, just beautiful!  And the photo of the bride with her bridesmaids posed like the cover of the comedy hit Bridesmaids is just too cute.   Wow that was almost a tongue twister, LOL.

Enjoy my sweets and have a great weekend!

Kiawah Island, SC Destination Wedding|Jennifer & Ian

Get ready for a lot of elegance and sparkle.  Jennifer & Ian’s Kiawah Island, South Carolina destination wedding captured by Fia Forever Photography, is definitely swoon-worthy.    Between all the beautiful exotic purple orchids, the glamour of Jennifer’s jewel encrusted wedding gown and not to mention her jewel encrusted Louboutin pumps, you’ll find yourself intrigued.

Browse through the lovely photos below and make sure to read the brides, comments at the end of the post .  And if you have time read this humorous and touching blog post made by Jennifer’s best friend at hobomom.com.  It’s a written toast to the couple.

From the Bride, Jennifer:

How did you meet?  While Ian and I knew each other in high school, we never hung out until college.  We happened to run into each other at a mutual friend’s 21st birthday celebration in Charlotte, NC during Christmas break my sophomore year, his junior year of college.  Once Christmas break was over and we went back to school at Appalachian State University, we ran into each other a few times and started talking on Instant Messenger (that was the cool social site at the time). :-)   After a couple weeks of chatting, he invited me over to his apartment for dinner and a movie.  The night was complete with a delicious meal (he is an amazing cook!) and a slow dance in his living room to some jazz music.  To be so young at the time, he was already a huge romantic.  The rest is history! It will be 11 years in January that we’ve been together.

Weddding Planning and Inspiration:  We chose to have the wedding in Kiawah Island, SC for a few different reasons.  Ian’s family grew up going there for vacation and his parents eventually retired there.  Kiawah ended up being our vacation destination throughout college and beyond.  Not only does Ian have many childhood memories there, we have a lot that we’ve shared together there as well. Kiawah is beautiful and serene and will always be considered our “home away from home”.  The wedding planning was tricky because we live in San Francisco, CA so it took many conference calls, webcam meetings and emails back and forth to get everything planned out.  We were able to have one face to face meeting with our wedding designer and luckily, she understood our style immediately.  We wanted chic, fun, elegant and modern and we couldn’t have been happier with the outcome!   What was you Favorite Memory of the day? -It’s hard to choose a favorite memory of the day, there were so many!  I think one of the most fun memories I have was when Ian freestyled on the dance floor at the reception.  He had everyone (including myself) feeling like we were at a concert of his.  It was definitely one of the highlights of the night for everyone!

Do you have any advice for other brides?  My advice to other brides would be two things: 1. Have a wedding director that you trust and knows what they’re doing.  2. Have fun and don’t get too uptight about things.  The reality is that it’s a one day event that you will hold forever in your memories, so make sure they are all good memories. :-)
