I have a really lively and sunny wedding to share with you all today photographed by Janelle Rodriguez Photography. Sarah & Nicholas’s “Love Shack on the Beach” theme has a color palette that speaks fun in the sun. Zestful yellow paired with touches of navy is just the perfect color combo for such a free – spirited beach themed wedding.
From the Photographer: Sarah and Nick are stunning. You see them and you think, “rock star couple right there!” They’re both vibrant, fun, and filled with huge smiles. Watching Sarah completely ecstatic walking down the isle and Nick locking eyes with such happiness, was an incredible moment as a wedding photographer. Not to mention the two put in a lot of effort for wedding planning and details all the way from Florida. The outcome? An incredible beach themed wedding right in central New York! Everything took place at The Cedar Lake Golf Club in Clayville. A ceremony right on the beach and a celebration in the club house. It was a spectacular day filled with joy and fun! So I have to thank the two for having me for their wedding photography. I had a blast and I know they did too! Congratulations to Sarah and Nick, the Brockways!!!
From the Bride, Sarah:
How did you meet?
Nick and I met in college through a mutual friend while traveling to Florida for Spring Break.
What was your Wedding Planning, Inspiration and Style?
Our wedding theme/inspiration was “Travel/ Beach Theme”…we met on a beach in Florida, was in the process of moving to Miami when we were planing the wedding- but wanted to get married in upstate New York where we both grew up & where our family is. We decided having it at Cedar Lake Club, a golf/country club in Nick’s hometown where he used to lifeguard in the summer, so we brought the “beach” to upstate New york! Traveling has always been a big part of our lives together- we backpacked all around Europe together. We had a large map and had pictures pointing to all the places we’ve traveled together (mostly beaches) and those were the names of each table (aks “Miami Beach”, “Barcelona Beach” etc). I made our invitations- they were beach passports to set the theme also all the guest got “beach bags” full of snacks at the hotel when they arrived and our favors were yellow and navy sunglasses.
What was your Favorite memory of the day?
Everything!!! Just being surrounded by all our favorite people-friends and family we felt so loved! But I loved walking down the asile and seeing him there, I was surprised how nervous I was and when we met eyes- I will always remember that.
Do You have any advice for other brides?
I remember hearing from other brides to “not sweat the small stuff” and also to “enjoy” the planning…I remember thinking it was weird, but it is true- it all goes by so fast & on the day of you won’t even care (and shouldn’t!) if all the drink umbrellas are being set out or the decorations are in right places and no one will notice either!!
