What to Consider When Choosing Your Colors
Before you’re ready to choose the colors, it is a good idea to visit the wedding and reception venue at the time of the day that you plan to have the ceremony. You will also need to consider the season in which the wedding is planned. This way, you will be able to choose just the right shade of color when you can see or visualize the background. For instance, for a formal wedding setting, hues such as peach, pink and mauve would look great. However, if you choose to have the ceremony at the beach you may wish to go for shades such as aquamarine, yellow and a soft shade of gold.
It is best to work with a color scheme that includes no more than two or three colors, but don’t be afraid to add more color if needed. These colors will be visible in your wedding bouquet, the colors of the bridesmaids’ dresses, floral arrangements and even the place settings at the tables. You could also use the same colors for the wedding cake. The linen and tableware used for the reception dominates the visual appeal of the venue. And so, table cloths, napkins, ribbons, lace, candles and centerpieces should be color coordinated.
Years from your wedding day you will look at pictures of the day and reminisce. You want everything to look as beautiful as you perceive it. This day is about love, commitment, happiness and joy. Do take the time to check if the pretty wedding colors you pick looks as good on paper or cloth as it does on the computer.
